The best time to go on safari in Zimbabwe depends on the type of wildlife and activities you're interested in experiencing. Here are a few general guidelines to consider:
- For big game viewing, the best time to visit is during the dry season from May to October. During this time, water sources are scarce, and animals congregate around remaining waterholes, making them easier to spot.
- Great in an open jeep if possible.
- Combine it with the sculptures you can collect! Sam Kuve didn't carve animals but his work with shona culture is wonderful.
As well as the paintings for instance from Barry Lungu
For bird watching, the best time to visit is from October to April. This is when many migratory bird species are present and resident birds are nesting.
For walking safaris, the best time is during the cooler months from May to August.
For cultural safaris, any time of the year is great, but the best time is during cultural festivals, which typically take place between August and November.
